Troop Space

TroopSpace.net at the grand old age of.... ONE!!! Go Military Social Network go!!

We made it through a whole Year!!!!!

Wow...... what can I say? I am amazed that TroopSpace is still here and growing! I really had no idea how this was going to go when I launched the site-- I do distinctly remember thinking how awesome it would be if we got 50 members.... and we beat that by a good clip :)

What am I most thankful for? That so many people across the country (and world) care enough about our men and women in uniform to show their support here... it touches me. Too often in our society we hear about all the annoying groups/people that scream loudly and denigrate the military. You all know better and I thank you for it.

Right off the top of my head, some thank you messages are in order... I am sure I am forgetting people, so forgive me if your name isn't listed here-- EVERY member of TroopSpace matters and I am grateful for all of you. Here are some of my favorite memories and thoughts with the site so far:

Josh- My brother from another Mother... we have come a long way from ISU my man! Thanks for everything. We are only getting started

Marisol- Thank you so much for all you do and your tireless efforts here welcoming people to our site. You are TroopSpace's heart.

Dave J (Scoop) - Power Blogger extraordinaire! I know I don't always get to your ideas right away, but they are always good ones. I also know I don't get to comment as often as I'd like on your blogs, but I read them all. Thank you for keeping Liberty's flame burning bright (and appropriately so) in Philly! Also, Scoop has my favorite playlist on the site-- nothing wrong with old School Alabama!!!

Amanda- Another big heart from the Coast Guard ranks here on TroopSpace! From the moment you joined us here you have been a big part of what we do like Marisol. From the controversy over your tattoos (I think it was jealousy) from others to your big move across the U.S. to Santa Rosa to your incredible recruiting efforts, thanks!!!!

Ian- The Patriot from Down Under and admin! Josh and I still dream of being able to spread TroopSpace Down Under and bring our two militaries closer together! Your tireless efforts here have meant a lot to people (they tell me in emails that you made them feel welcome) and somehow we will figure out a way to visit you-- and hopefully help you find a way to fulfill your dream of playing Taps at Arlington National Cemetary.

Colleen- The Energizer bunny!!! I know right now things are tough, but you aren't alone-- hang in there- things WILL get better! And thanks for being so warm and sharing with the community here!

Terry, Jessica, Jessica (yes there are two of them), Becky, Ryan, Mike, Lester and Dylan-- my friends from ISU! Thanks for joining TroopSpace and showing support!!! I know we all don't talk as much as I'd like, but maybe we can all work on that? :) Love you nutballs for different reasons- each and every one of you twisted whackos.

Kitchen_Opinionated: Where you been lately brother? Your blogs posts have always been insightful and eye opening for a lot of people here. We all really appreciate your service-- and your blogging! Come back soon!

Southern Belle- Where is our sweet Southern Belle? we haven't seen you around lately either-- we miss you! One of our earlier members, Southern Belle was a warm voice for a lot of people here and we hope she comes back soon. (Plus I used her play list for awhile when i had to work late in San Francisco!!)

Marines- You guys showed up here early and made a big impact on the site. Semper Fi guys- stay safe

Myra and the Plastics- For those of you that never met them... well, its an experience.... hahahaha. They have been MIA lately- but those ladies are very giving and were (and hopefully will be again) big members of our site. Go Plastics! :)

Army- Hooah! Army Rules! (But I'm biased naturally).

Navy- No less important but it has taken awhile to get you all here!

Air Force- We need some more airmen (and women) here too! Thanks for being here!

Bonofied- What a sweetheart! One of our newer members she has already gotten a newpaper to run an article about us!! Constantly full of kind words and encouragement for everyone she is a great lady and if you don't know her, you should!

Kyle Danbury- The dude got shot and lived to tell the tale. Carry on Danbury!

Kevin Hecht- I LOVE your grandfather's journal entries!! Escaping from hitlers Wehrmacht to join the good guys? They should make a movie out of the man's life!! Hope you come back online soon!

SGT Ziemer-- loved the Rolling Stone Magazine cover when you joined!

Sarah- She was ready to fly her ass out to San Francisco for our march on Berkeley that never got off the ground.... (if only we had a little cash). This woman has got some FIRE in her! Love it! (Thanks Sarah!)

James Simon II - We hope your baby is doing okay! For those that don't know- James had a scare with his babu a year ago--- that was a moment when TroopSpace came together and I think we only had 25 members at the time

Alex- An inspiration to us all, Alexandria is definitely a go-getter that doesn't take NO for an answer

Rishelle- Tshirt creator, make up artist bar none! She even gave TroopSpace a shout-out over MySpace!!!! HOOAH RISHELLE!

All our Buglaers---- you people are amazing! I didn't know these patriotic Buglers even existed until Ian and Alex introduced them to us all!

Dave- Proving its always a good time to serve your country!!! HOOAH DAVE!

Lindsey- She put us on TV! Thanks!! :)

This list is by no means complete or exhaustive.... so many of you have made an impact here, words can't express how much I have come to enjoy knowing you and your personal stories. And ALL of you are heroes- every one. You all support the greatest military on Earth... THANK YOU for being a part of TroopSpace!

Wow "Special", I am so grateful to have received, and acted upon, the invitation through one of those "other" network sites. I spend so much more time here than I do "elsewhere", so much so that my friends have wondered if I dropped off the planet.... I keep telling them to come over from the dark side and put up a profile! Some have, others I still have to work on!

TroopSpace is amazing and I am honored to be a part of something that shows America just how much we TRULY supports our men and women in uniform! I consider it another honor to have met a good number of the TS members--emailing back and forth--I appreciate your friendship so much!

"Special", Josh, all the Admins thank you for making this such a great place to be!

P.S. Ed, thank you for the kind words...you're a DOLL! (Thank God you never met my evil twin sister! LOL)

And, I miss the plastics too! I know Myra and her Beloved have been building a house...I saw some pictures, plus there is the wedding coming up, I'm sure Myra has her hands full... (Where's our invite?) Although, I was kind of hoping for a blow by blow play of the nuptial preps!!! (Hint, hint!!!)

Congratulations Ed & Josh on the 1-yr Birthday of TS! You did good!

There is no need to Thank Me! Your brought TS to me when it was less than a week old, during a time where my loved ones where away and I was new to the Coastie way of life...you, Josh and this site became my back bone and support when no one else knew what I was feeling...

And then you ask me to be one of your admins, which till this very day not only am I proud to be a TS admins, but I am so very honored!

Much love and support to you, Josh, our members and to this amazing site!

This is an amazing site that our military loved ones, troops and civilians need and I thank you and Josh for creating it!

Talk to you later!

Thank you both! Ian, that is great that you can use your page as a virtual resume for bugling! Fantastic! And thanks to you as well Jay-- that is a labor of love for us so it means a lot to hear good things like that.

Thanks Josh & Edward for a job well done in creating this site. A big thanks for choosing me as one of the Admins & I hope I`ve been a help. I feel that TS has helped bridge the gap between civillian & troops. Also it lets the troops know that there are people that really care about them & what they are doing for their countries. I`d like to thank the members that have chose me to be their friend even though I reside "down under"
My page has been handy when I have a bugle request, ceremonial or funeral, as it has saved me from auditions as it lets the people know what they will expect. I hope to continue this as long as possible as my way of saying thanks.
