Josh has already done a good job on
his blog talking about some of the challenges we've had growing TroopSpace and making it into what we want.
For me, it has also been an interesting journey and a major learning experience. I've learned a lot of people make promises but don't follow up on them for one. I won't be so trusting next in future business dealings that much I am sure of.
So now, I have been interviewing for jobs... and I discovered something. I kept passing on positions because...well, because I am not done trying to turn TroopSpace into what I know it can be. But that realization also means I am in for some interesting times as Josh and I are going to try and do this with no money or investment capital.
Keeping TroopSpace running itself is not super expensive- but adding the things that will really make it a great site and community for everyone does. So if anyone out there knows deep pocketed individuals looking to make an investment, point them our way :)
What types of things do we want to do? What
don't we want to do? hahaha--
- First, we want to get t-shirts printed so we can turn the designs our users submitted to us into actual designs. Then we want to make them available to everyone on TroopSpace too!
-We want to get our video show up and running and think it will be a great addition to the site.
-We want a great chat feature that allows people to log on and chat away with ease
-We want it to be easy for people to see who is online at any given time
-An iPhone/Blackberry app so you can have TroopSpace on the go!
-Form our charitable branch of TroopSpace- We want to raise money to help out our members in need
-Care packages for everyone overseas
....and the list goes on and on!
So again, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that is here on TroopSpace and believes in what we are doing. And to those of you in uniform, YOU are the reason we do what we do! THANK YOU
