Whether or not you approve of Obama's job so far.... this video is a REALLY good way of demonstrating things so us "regular folks" can understand it.

We had a simular experience in Victoria approx 15 years ago. The state was broke, the Victorian Premier was so embrasswd about it that he resigned. So they put a "Bunny" in to cover the situation till they elected a new Premier.
Along came Jeff Kennett to varify the situation. To start with nothing he had to be a bit cruel & naturally a lot hated some of his dicissions. But in the long run at least he pulled us through. He did gain respect in his later half of his term, but eventually he was voted out. I feel that people have short memories when things are going along fine & forget about the hard times. Plus in a 15 year span you have experienced voter`s that have died off & the young ones coming in to vote, that were too young at the time to know about the previous situations & hard times, that influence the voting situation, that may end up "in the wrong hands" or it maybe in the "right hands".
So do you think Obama`s situation is simular? Eventually time will tell wether he is doing the right thing or not, as it is only early stages for him at the moment. Your situation won`t be cured over night.
