Whether or not you approve of Obama's job so far.... this video is a REALLY good way of demonstrating things so us "regular folks" can understand it.

By now everyone has heard about the Navy rescuing the captain of the Alabama Maersk ship from Pirates.
So I would like to dedicate this blog post to the Navy Seals and the very brave Captain Phillips that risked his own life for his men.
GO NAVY!!!
Josh has already done a good job on his blog talking about some of the challenges we've had growing TroopSpace and making it into what we want.
For me, it has also been an interesting journey and a major learning experience. I've learned a lot of people make promises but don't follow up on them for one. I won't be so trusting next in future business dealings that much I am sure of.
So now, I have been interviewing for… Continue
Wow...... what can I say? I am amazed that TroopSpace is still here and growing! I really had no idea how this was going to go when I launched the site-- I do distinctly remember thinking how awesome it would be if we got 50 members.... and we beat that by a good clip :)
What am I most thankful for? That so many people across the country (and world) care enough about our men and women in uniform to show their… Continue
Hello everyone- well it's official. TroopSpace has it's own office, and we are live! I'd like to write more, but we are busy, busy busy getting everything up and running.
If you have a chance, please head on over to the Naperville Sun article and check it out! At the end of the article, there is an area for comments, so be sure and leave a message thanking them for covering us, what TroopS… Continue
Me and my rented "Rig". Notice the cooler-- I travel prepared!
Well I did it and figured I would share my voyage with you all. You know, its really ironic that TroopSpace is the main priority for me in my life right now-- but a million ot… Continue
While I was at the G.I. Film Festival in Washington D.C., I had the opportunity to meet Mitch Anderson, creator of the documentary film, "The World Without Us".
The film (see trailer below) follows the fictional presidential campaign of a candidate named Turner, who vows when elected to bring home the entire U.S. Military from every country it is deployed to. As Turner says in the film, The United States spends countless sum… Continue
I am still trying to process everything that I encountered and experienced last week in Washington D.C. It was an incredible experience- I met some great people out there, and everyone was pro-military.
Living in San Francisco, sometimes its easy to forget that there really are people that are patriotic and give a damn about our country, our military, and the world at large. I think the main problem is with journalists----
An overwhelming amount of universities and colleges in America teach th… Continue
Boy--- things are blowing up fast!
TroopSpace has been a dream of mine for awhile, and when I brought in Josh and we got this baby of ours going, I never imagined we would average 50 new members a month!
I am so happy that the site has been received so well and that I am making some great friends here-- too many to list. Marisol has been a Godsend as an admin, and so many others of our active members really make a difference here.
Now that we are getting traction though, my main frustration… Continue
I am going to write a song about Hives. Because I woke up with them AGAIN today- pretty soon I am sure they are going to start talking to me.....creeeepy.
So, for those of you that have read my previous blog posts..... I had to go back to the Doctor and get TWO shots in the ass for my trouble. One right cheek, and one left cheek.
OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!
Everyone at the office had a chuckle when I showed up, I am so glad I and my HIVES can bring joy to the Doctor's office. How friggin' delightfu… Continue
Seriously, I have some damn issues going on. Lifelong Chicagoan, check. I lived through Chicago's winters, no small feat. Seriously, we had winters that were SEVENTY BELOW ZERO The kind where the car just isn't going to start- ever. Unless you have a heated garage, or some way of heating the car battery. I've had to dig my car out of snow many, many times.
So- Chicago boy moves to San Francisco- I'm moving to paradise, right? I mean, winter was a joy out here- in October it was in the hi… Continue
I have been doing some reflecting this week on the success and challenges TroopSpace. We have made it past 150 members, and I am thrilled.
Still, now that we have gotten this far, I feel we need to make the site better- we already have some people interacting, especially the spouses/girlfriends and fiancess! It is great to see the bonds they are all forming. Our new admin (CoastieWife/Marisol) has been a Godsend, reaching out to everyone the way she has.
I know the troops are busy, but I want… Continue
Well, it's official- we are giving away an iPhone! I am so blown away and humbled to see how fast TroopSpace is growing. There have been a few bumps in the road so far- those people that won CDs should FINALLY see them in the next few days! but things are humming along.
As TroopSpace grows, I need to figure out how to make it work best for everyone. I want everyone here to feel like this is THEIR site- because after all, it is. I run TroopSpace based on the theory of crowdsourcing-… Continue
Well, the holidays were great, and TroopSpace is doing well. I am so excited to see that we are adding more faces!
But somehow, in all the hoopla of the holidays, I managed to get.....bronchitis??? I don't even smoke! At first I just assumed I had a cold and it would go away. About 6 weeks later as I was looking at my lung lying on the floor after coughing it out (HA), I thought, "Maybe I should go see a doctor".
He told me I had bronchitis and a nasty fever and I should h… Continue
What can I say that I haven't already? I am blown away--- I am in shock, in awe, proud and humbled all at once.
16 Days and TroopSpace has 100 members....WOW. When I was in the U.S. Army Reserves, I loved every minute of my service. I had an opportunity to work with the U.S. Border Patrol in Texas, I was able to go to Egypt and do joint operations with the Egyptian Military, and I made some great friends and learned what it meant to SERVE--- I joined the Army because my grandfath… Continue

When CoastieWife posted the story about her friend James' baby in San Diego, my heart dropped. I started TroopSpace to connect the all the troops and tell their stories; I always realized it was possible that one of our members might be kileld in action- I never thought about one of our members' babies----
When I read that post from CoastieWife- I couldn't stop thinking about it. TroopSpace has been here a week, and we are already making real connectio… Continue
i am blown away at how fast TroopSpace is growing- I hoped after a week or two we'd have twenty people. 5 days later we have 28!!!!
I have already met some great people here- it is really exciting to see people respond so positively to my baby (this site). I have dreamt and planned on doing this for a long time! I want to do something that benefits the military- all too often pay pay lip service to our uniformed members. I want to provide a place for everyone to communicate and ke… Continue
