Hey all,

Recently here in Boston we had "Save The Ta-Ta's" Walk which was awesome! Even though I was working and giving tours, I was honking and dinging at all those that were walking in full support! What a beautiful sight it was to see hundreds and thousands of walking for the Breast Cancer Fight...what a great cause.

Hope all is well and SAVE THE TA-TAS!

Hey all...

A dear friend of mine is having some major testing for cervical cancer...poor girl. She is only 26 years old or so with so much ahead of her...it just seems like things get harder and harder for her...just pray that these test's only prove that she has abnormal cells and that is it...

Thanks for your support.

I think this is so awesome. My mother has been in remission for about
ten years.

When we first found out she had breast cancer it was very difficult to
handle but my mother has always been a strong woman. She was
determined to fight this. Well with all of her family supporting her
and all the great DR she is cancer free.

It has been ten years and I thank god every day for her health. She still
had to see the Dr every year to make sure the cancer is not back.
No news is goods news my mother would always say..

I also have lost two brothers from lung cancer which is a horrible disease.
Is so hard to see your love ones do damage to their bodies knowing what
is expecting to happen. Anyone who smokes...well please try to quick:)

Thank you for sharing about your father and for joining this group. Since you have started a kidney foundation in honor of your father, any advice or suggestions on how to help these types of organizations would be wonderful.

I know that you did mention that the tat honored your father, we just didn't get into detail about it...I am sending you a HUGE HUG!

What a strong woman you are, just like Myra and many others.

Im not sure if I had told you, my father passed away from Brain Cancer with stemmed from Kidney Cancer last Aug. My father was my best friend and not a day goes by that I dont think of him. We started a fund from him through the kidney foundation under his name, so this money goes towards research so far we have raised thousands of dollars!!! In his memory I got a tattoo on my foot so everyday I can see something that reminds me of him. Just thought I would share that with you...

Marisol, This a great idea. I lost my mother to adenoid cancer on April 6, 2007. A tumor the size of a softball was removed from her lung in the summer of 2006 and the doctor's thought they had removed all of the cancer, but 2 tumors wound up in her brain before she died. Someone needs to find a cure for this disease. I support the American Cancer Foundation. Troop Space is a good place to start. Good Luck. Tom Clyne

Great group idea, Myra!

Sad, though, that we even need to create such a group. Too many have been afflicted with losing a friend or family member to cancer. I'd bet 1 in 4 people have or will have a brush with cancer sometime in their lives. It's horrifically scary to think about.

My story is this. I lost a dear, dear aunt (mom's side) to breast cancer. She endured a double mastectomy, and went into remission. Unfortunately, when the cancer returned it came back more aggressive than before. She left behind 2 sisters and a 12 year old (at the time) daughter. I was devastated when she passed. Think I was around 25 at the time. I lost another aunt (dad's side) to breast cancer just a couple of years ago. Had an uncle pass away from cancer when I was like 10. A living aunt of mine currently has a rare form of leukemia, which is treated very similarly to cancer. My wife Megan, has been diagnosed with Crohn's disease. If untreated, it can result in cancer. So we're dealing with that RIGHT AWAY!

So my family is no stranger to this horrible disease. I feel strongly about finding a cure, and am a regular supporter of Race for a Cure & The V Foundation. And for those of you who haven't heard the speech Jim Valvano gave at the 1993 Espy Awards, I HIGHLY suggest you listen to it! The man was riddled with tumors at the time, and could barely get up on stage. Jim passed almost 1 year later. I linked the speech HERE.

Again, this is a VERY worthwhile cause and I hope someday we find a cure that can put all of these cancer foundations out of business forever !
