My son was just shipped to Basic Training

I was wondering if anyone could tell me when I should be hearing from him. I have only heard from h im one time since he shipped out for only about 1 minute...and also when should I expect an address to write to him..

I hope you have heard from him again. When my grandson went to basic training his mother was in the same boat as you. I called his training Sgt to have him motivate my grandson to call his mother. Supposedly the Sgt did not let my grandson know I had called. They do get caught up with the activities and do not always think about calling until it too late in the day to do so.
Support him when you can and congratulations to both you and your son.

I have heard from him...actually about 2 or 3 times now...normally on Sunday. So he is doing good, but yesterday when he called he was a little depressed...he said that they had been beating them down pretty hard and that they had broke him completely...I know what he is talking about, because I have been told how hard they are on the new recruits. He is now beginning his 2nd week of the white phase...and he found out and told us that they only have a MP graduation and that is not until September. I always thought that they had a Basic training graduation...but I guess that MP doesn't do that. So I was really hoping to get to see him before September...but I guess not huh? Thanks for commenting my discussion and let me know if you know anything more about MP graduations...thanks again.

He is actually doing great. He is the #1 soldier right now and they are in their last week of basic training. He will be going directly into the AIT training and then their graduation will be sometime in September. Thank you for asking.
